Making a public declaration of faith is an integral step in the life of every person who has entered into a saving relationship with Jesus by believing that He died for our sins (Romans 5:8). It allows us to share in His death and resurrection to new life (Romans 6:4) in a very practical way. When a person asks Jesus to be the Lord of their life, they become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Baptism is an act of obedience that shows your desire to live for, and serve, Him. Taking this step is more than just getting dunked in water — it is symbolic of the “new identity” that you have in Christ (Galatians 3:27) — an identity which allows us to spend eternity with Him in heaven!
If you have not yet been water baptized, now is the time! You can respond like the eunuch in Acts 8:36, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?”
