We all believe that “good news” is for sharing.  Especially when it comes to sharing the “good news” of God’s love.  And yet, it can be hard.  We all want to help our friends and family find their way to Christ, but we just don’t always keep it in priority position.  We get too busy, become preoccupied, find ourselves intimidated, or just take our eye off the ball.

There is a great story in Mark 5.  Jesus heals a demon possessed man and tells him to go home and tell his family and friends what the Lord has done for him (see vs. 19).  I love this story.  It tells you and me that we simply need to tell our story.  We need to tell others what Jesus has done for us.  How He has forgiven us and changed our lives.  We don’t need to always preach a sermon and know every answer to every theological argument.  We just need to simply tell our story:  “once I was lost and now I’m found, once I was blind and now I see.”  Someone once said, we are simply “one beggar telling another beggar where to find bread.”  Love it.  Simple.  I can do that.

There are two other scriptures that really inspire me when it comes to sharing the Good News.  Notice 8 practical and simple steps in Col 4:2-6; I Peter 3:15.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

I pray God’s blessing on you as you share the Good News of God’s grace with others.  Just tell your story.  Celebrate what Christ has done for you.
