PRAY FOR OUR NEW PRESIDENT
Yesterday we witnessed unprecedented, unpeaceful, and horrific rioting as Americans stormed our Nation’s Capitol. It was a sad day for our country in many ways. The good news is that our democracy still stands tall in the end. After the election in November, I wrote a blog post on how to pray for our president. Sadly, for many Christians, prayer is political. They will pray for the person they voted for but not for the one they didn’t. I want to challenge you to be more spiritual than that. Scripture encourages us to pray for our president and those in authority no matter who it is or who they are. Being president is a tough job and our new president, Joe Biden, will need our prayers. I have encouraged our church family to pray for all our presidents through the years whether it was Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan…regardless of political party. Now we need to rally in prayer around our new president, Joe Biden. Prayer is not political. There is much we need to accomplish in our nation.
Please join me in praying and consider the following as you do.
