Join me this year in a new study on the Proverbs: God’s Wisdom for Today. As you read through the Proverbs, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement to your own life. Today, we study and reflect on Proverbs 11.

Reflection
Is your private persona different than who you try to make yourself look like in public? Who are you in the dark, when the lights are off, and nobody is looking? What does God see when He looks at you? He sees everything. Would He say we have integrity? Would He say we are humble, faithful, true, and godly? Are we willing to accommodate hubris, dishonesty, compromise, and various forms of deception? We think we can fool people. We even try to fool ourselves, but there is no way to fool God. In the end, our duplicity will catch up with us and things will begin to unravel in our lives, so we must call it out. Confess it, and clean it up. We all need to pray the prayer David prayed. Pray it regularly. “See if there be any wicked way in me and cleanse me from every sin and set me free.” May we all live honestly and walk humbly.
“The Lord detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” – Proverbs 11:1-3
