As you read through the Proverbs, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement and wisdom to your own life.

Kindness.
Showing kindness to someone in need honors God. Who can you encourage with a “hand up” today? God wants us to find a need and meet it. See a hurt and heal it. Look for emptiness and fill it. May I encourage all of us to meet needs spontaneously and systematically. In other words, meet the needs of others as you encounter them. And find a way to serve those in need by giving monthly and serving monthly through your church or other. Many people today are stuck, trapped, hopeless, and overwhelmed for one reason or another. Sometimes crumbling finances, unforeseen health issues, a broken marriage, job loss, and more real-life setbacks can leave a person or family in a very dark and difficult place. It’s up to the rest of us to step in and help. Practically. With our time, energy, and money. True compassion will cost us, but selfless service to others pleases God. And when we sacrifice to serve, we align our hearts and minds with the Heart and Will of God. Let’s all show some extra kindness to someone in need today.
“Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.” – Proverbs 14:31
