As you read through the Proverbs, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement and wisdom to your own life.

Correction.
Generally, people want God’s blessing and approval and not His correction. But as a loving father disciplines his child, so God disciplines us because He loves us. You’ve heard it said that God loves us as we are but too much to leave us as we are. There is nothing you can do to “lose” God’s love. But we all are a work in progress and must change, make course corrections, and grow. Part of His love for us is seen in His guidance, direction, and correction. We must learn to regularly desire, receive, appreciate, and apply His discipline. This will lead to growth and blessing. God has a great plan for our life. All of us. But it requires we walk in His path and not stray from it. Be open to God’s loving correction. Desire it. Follow it. God’s rich blessings await those who do.
“My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” – Proverbs 3:11-12
