As you read through the Proverbs, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement and wisdom to your own life.

If…Then.
If I do this, then this will happen. These “if/then” statements are seen often throughout Scripture. “If” I follow God’s plan, “then” I will be blessed. “If” I ignore or disobey God’s plan, “then” I will not be blessed. Not hard to understand, really, but very hard for us to faithfully do. Our carnal nature bends us away from obedience. That’s why the Bible says I must “train myself to be godly.” I must bend myself toward godliness through spiritual disciplines like prayer, Bible reading, confession, and submission. It is wise to be godly, but it takes obedience. Obedience requires us to think and live like Jesus. I’m praying for you and me today…to be wise and godly.
“My son, do not let wisdom and understanding out of your sight, preserve sound judgment and discretion; they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.” – Proverbs 3:21-23
