Join me this year in a new study on the Proverbs: God’s Wisdom for Today. As you read through the Proverbs, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement to your own life. Today, we study and reflect on Proverbs 4.

Reflection
Our hearts can become clouded and we can lose clarity. Our hearts, the core of who we are, can be full of hurt, resentment, anger, discontentment, fear, pride, discouragement, sin, ego, envy, compromise and more of what leads to destruction and confusion. We want to love, live, and lead out of pure, clean, and clear hearts. We want to lead from hearts that are full of humility, forgiveness, hope, trust, purity, character, godliness, healing, assurance, and more of what honors God. A conflicted and compromised heart will hurt us and others around us. A clean and clear heart will strengthen us and those around us. What is in your heart that needs to be healed or removed? What envy needs to be confessed and overcome? Who do you need to forgive? What character flaw needs to be given over to God for repair? Pray with me today, “Create in me a clean heart, O God,” because everything flows from our hearts.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” – Proverbs 4:23
