Join me this year in a new study on the Proverbs: God’s Wisdom for Today. As you read through the Proverbs, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement to your own life. Today, we study and reflect on Proverbs 7.

Reflection
Keep guard. These are two words God wants us to maximize and not minimize in our lives each day. Obeying the Lord leads to blessing and prioritizing His teachings leads to wisdom. We must evaluate our hearts and consider our thoughts. Am I keeping and guarding? Scripture reminds us over and over that sin is seductive and pleasurable. It is temporary and, in the end, destructive. When we don’t keep His Word and get off His path, pain and disappointment await. Life is hard. We need God. The best way to live is to walk in step with our Creator. Going rogue, not keeping, and failing to guard will lead to ruin. Remember, God loves you, cares about every detail in your life. He has your best interest at heart. Keep His commands. Prioritize and guard His teachings. God’s blessings await us when we do.
“My son, keep my words and store up my commands within you. Keep my commands and you will live; guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.” – Proverbs 7:1-2
