The Psalms have brought tremendous comfort and guidance to so many for so long. Join me in taking a fresh look at each Psalm. As you read through them, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement to your own life. Today, we study and reflect on Psalms 76, 77, and 78.

Reflection 1
Make His name great today! You may say, “His name is already great.” I get that, of course. Let’s live our lives today in such a way that, when people see us, hear us, and watch us, they are drawn to our great God. May we inspire others to turn to Christ and follow Him with their whole heart. Let’s make today a great day to point people to our great God!
“God is renowned in Judah; in Israel his name is great.” — Psalms 76:1

Reflection 2
I would imagine everyone has read the beautiful poem entitled “Footprints in the Sand.” Look it up and read it again today. I’m reminded here again in the Psalms that God is with me and providing a way for me even though I can’t see Him. His footprints may not be visible to me, but His presence is always with me, reassuring and comforting me. He cares. He knows. I am never alone.
“Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.” — Psalms 77:19

Reflection 3
The most crucial quality for any leader to possess and display is integrity. Without integrity, a leader is adrift at sea without a rudder. With flawed character, decision-making is unreliable and even dangerous. Without character at the core, leadership lacks moral standards and ethical resilience. People say that nobody can be perfect, as if that’s the point. That’s not the point; that’s an excuse. Every leader must fight every day to be a leader of character and a person of integrity. Aim for the moral high ground. Overcome selfish ambition. Serve others. Honor God. Read this verse again. If you are a leader of any kind, lead with integrity above all. In the end, we are all leaders. We must lead our families and ourselves with true integrity and high character.
“And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.” — Psalms 78:72
