“We can change an island in a generation”
— Doug Hollis
The people on the island of Sumba, Indonesia, are trapped in the past and held in bondage by their Marapu religion of animal sacrifice, idol worship, and slavery of women and young girls. BCA has the opportunity to come alongside and support the great work Doug Hollis is doing on Sumba. Doug and the team of youth leaders at the Sumba House of Hope provide housing, education, nutrition, water, medication, Christian love, and hope for otherwise hopeless kids.
The BCA Missions Team is in the process of completing a five-year plan for a new missions outreach on the island of Sumba, Indonesia. Please join us in praying for the following needs and future ministries on Sumba:
- > Doug Hollis and the many needs at the Sumba House of Hope
> The Sumba House of Hope Ministry — rescuing kids and offering them hope
> The Sponsor a Kid ministry — education, nutrition, water, medication
> The rural Assemblies of God churches, pastors, and for the unreached people in the villages
> Training Assemblies of God pastors for the rural churches
> Providing water to villages and churches that do not have accessible water
> Purchasing property and building a church in the city of Waingapu
> Supporting John Taylor, Doug Hollis, and other Indonesian missionaries with prayer and finances
> Sumba kids’ outreach
> Annual STORM trips to Sumba for ministry, medical, training, and compassion.
