Join me in a study on the Proverbs: God’s Wisdom for Today. As you read through the Proverbs, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement and wisdom to your own life. Today, we study and reflect on Proverbs 15.

Reflection
Harsh or Gentle. Which one describes your communication pattern best? A gentle answer turns away wrath. A harsh word stirs up anger. Do you typically pour water or gas on an argument, disagreement, conflict? Some folks are pretty volatile, easily triggered toward angry and hostile conversation. Tragically, they don’t realize that their words leave emotional and relational carnage in their wake. The Bible talks a ton about our speech as if it is a big deal, because it is. Spiritual maturity leads to self-control. Filter your words, guard your spirit, control your emotions, and humble your heart. The people in your life are more important than gold. Love others with your words. Show godliness by how you talk. Inspire don’t destroy others with your words.
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.” – Proverbs 15:1-2
