As you read through the Proverbs, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement and wisdom to your own life.

Generosity.
Leads to blessing. We don’t give to get, but giving and generosity lead to God’s blessing. It’s a biblical axiom. A powerful principle we see throughout Scripture. And many have seen it proven true in their own lives. God tells us here and elsewhere to approach life open-handed. Not with a closed fist. Freely we have received. Freely we are to give. We give to God and His work first, and we also look for ways to bless others. Money should not own our hearts. Only God should. One of the ways we know God is Lord of our lives is by looking at our generosity level. God owns all. We are mere managers or stewards. So, the questions to ask as we read this verse is, am I managing and stewarding God’s money well? And is God truly number one in my heart? Let’s get to yes on both. Blessings will follow as we do. God is generous, and He expects us to be, too.
