As you read through the Proverbs, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement and wisdom to your own life.
6 Deadly Sins. Make that 7.
God’s warnings bring life. Just the opposite of what many people think. On the surface, many want just to do their thing and not have anyone tell them they are wrong. God says do your thing—and if it’s the wrong thing—you will run yourself off a cliff. Think deeper. Live smarter. Be wiser. Live life with the long view in mind. The view that requires wise decisions and wise living. Understand that God’s precautions are for your benefit. He is trying to save you from yourself. And He died on the Cross to save you from your sins. He loves you and wants you to triumph. Go with God. Always.
“There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” – Proverbs 6:16-19
