Join me this year in a new study on the Proverbs: God’s Wisdom for Today. As you read through the Proverbs, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement to your own life. Today, we study and reflect on Proverbs 8.

Reflection
God’s wisdom is “more valuable than riches.” “More important than anything else you can desire.” How do we bankroll wisdom? How do we become wise? How do we establish a rich database of wisdom and knowledge? How do we learn to make wise decisions consistently? How do we become wise people? One way: God’s Word. Reading regularly, studying daily, memorizing, and meditating often. Prioritizing Scripture with the intent to apply and practice its teachings is how we gain godly wisdom. God’s Word teaches us God’s Wisdom and leads us to live out God’s Ways. The spiritual discipline of personal Bible study is vital, and it is also a joy. Rich discoveries are made every time I open His Book. Wisdom, inspiration, and encouragement are on every page. Lessons on living strong when times are tough and examples of how to overcome are everywhere. Ethics, virtues, and values are formed as we devote ourselves to God’s Word and His ways, but it is our choice. Choose to be wise by choosing to immerse your life in studying and applying God’s teachings. You will be blessed as you do.
“Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold, for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.” – Proverbs 8:10-11
