Psalm 1
The Psalms have brought tremendous comfort and guidance to so many for so long. Join me in taking a fresh look at each Psalm. As you read through them, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply these devotional bits of encouragement to your own life. Today, we study and reflect on Psalm 1.
Reflection
The blessed and prosperous life is the one anchored deep in the person and promises of God. We will find blessing in this life if we make God’s Word our priority and guide. We are to delight in it and mediate daily upon it. Our daily steps determine the direction of our lives, so we must choose wisely each day. Scripture shows us how. True prosperity is eternal and spiritual, and it can only be found in Christ. Make living for God and living out God’s Word your passion and priority. Study, memorize, meditate, read, hear, and follow God’s Word. Create a robust Bible learning and application plan. God will bless you and prosper you, and others around you, as you make God’s Word your priority.
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.” — Psalms 1:1-3
