The Psalms have brought tremendous comfort and guidance to many for so long. Join me in taking a fresh look at each Psalm. As you read through them, I urge you to reflect, pray, and apply this devotional encouragement to your life. Today, we study and reflect on Psalm 1.

Reflection

The blessed and prosperous life is anchored deep in the person and promises of God. We will find blessings if we make God’s Word our priority and guide. We are to delight in it and meditate daily upon it. Our daily steps determine the direction of our lives, so we must choose wisely each day. Scripture shows us how. True prosperity is eternal and spiritual and can only be found in Christ. Make living for God and living out God’s Word your passion and priority. Study, memorize, meditate, read, hear, and follow God’s Word. Create a robust Bible learning and application plan. God will bless and prosper you and others around you as you prioritize God’s Word.

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.” — Psalms 1:1-3
